本科生助学金

Sometimes after you receive your financial aid offer, you 和/or your family may experience or have experienced an unexpected change to your financial situation. In these circumstances, you may appeal for a re-evaluation of your financial aid. All special circumstances requests must be approved by the 经济援助申请 Committee, 和 appeals are processed only when an 最后 aid offer is issued (不 an estimate) 和 all additional documents are received.

特殊情况下

Examples that 构成特殊情况:

  • Loss or reduction of employment, wages or unemployment compensation
  • Additional costs incurred as a result of a 学生's disability
  • Excessive medical or dental expenses 不 covered by insurance which exceed 7.5 percent of the family's or 学生's adjusted gross income
  • 破产或丧失抵押品赎回权
  • Divorce or separation of parents (this may result in the need for a Noncustodial Parent CSS Profile)
  • Request for forgiveness (whole or partial) of a one-time lump sum payment in the case that the money was used to offset the above-mentioned circumstances
  • 失去子女抚养费

上诉过程

作为审查过程的一部分, the 经济援助申请 Committee looks at your current financial aid offer, 这意味着 you must apply for aid 和 receive a 最后 financial aid offer (不 just an estimate) before you can submit an appeal. It is expected that all financial aid options are explored 和 exhausted before submitting a 特殊情况下 Form to the committee.

一旦您的表单提交, our 经济援助申请 Committee will determine the results of your appeal 和 inform you of their decision. All communication regarding special circumstance requests is sent via email. The committee may request additional documentation, so be sure to check your email regularly if you've submitted an appeal.
